ABOUT SAN JUAN CANTA

SAN JUAN CANTA, International Choir Competition and Festival, is a renewed choral proposal from San Juan, Argentina, based on the experience and international trajectory exhibited in the organization of nine editions of SAN JUAN CORAL, four editions of ANSILTA, CONCURSO Y FESTIVAL NACIONAL DE COROS, four editions of CANTO EN SOL, FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL PARA COROS DE NIÑOS Y JUVENILES and the founding edition of SAN JUAN CANTA, held in August 2016..

It is organized every two years by Coro Arturo Beruti Asociación Civil, being its creator Prof. María Elina Mayorga, who was already the creator and Artistic Director of all the festivals and competitions above.

It is an important opportunity for artistic and cultural exchange that is offered from San Juan, the great Argentine choral center internationally recognized for the excellence of the aforementioned events.

San Juan canta is supporteded by the Government of the Province of San Juan through its Ministerio de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte, Auditorio Juan Victoria and is sponsored by Red Coral Argentina and The Coral Festival Network.

OUR GOALS:


• Celebrate cultural diversity through choral music.
• Promote artistic excellence and reward outstanding talent through competitions and awards.
• Provide a platform for choirs from around the world to showcase their talents and share their unique musical traditions.
• Foster collaboration between choirs and international directors, promoting learning and mutual growth.
• Offer professional development opportunities for singers, teachers, conductors, and enthusiasts through workshops, masterclasses, and conferences.
• Stimulate interest and participation in choral music at the local, national, and international levels, especially among youth.
• Promote cultural tourism and strengthen the local economy by attracting visitors and participants from around the world.
• Establish and maintain lasting relationships between choirs, cultural institutions, and sponsors to ensure the continuity of the festival in the future.



Having the extraordinary Juan Victoria Auditorium as the main venue for tests and concerts, we make an international call addressed to vocational choirs and chamber groups in all categories to offer their singing.

The event will be fully supervised by the President of the Artistic Committee in cooperation with the President of the Jury President of the Jury, Dr. T. J. Harper (Akron, Ohio, U. S. A.) Together with them, an international jury of recognized prestige will award the prizes to the competing choirs.

Concerts will be organized in the city and training activities by guest professionals, as well as camaraderie meetings between all the participants.

No less attractive is the idea of visiting San Juan and getting to know its beautiful mountain landscapes and wineries where you can taste the exquisite wines of the region.
